ABSTRACT

　　This paper introduces the different phases of WCDMA.And all their respects are analyzed and compared,which include their characters and advances.So not only new 3G operators but also traditional ones can drawn some useful suggestions about how to select different versions of WCDMA standards from this paper.

　　WCDMA标准化的不同阶段
　　WCDMA作为第三代移动通信系统的候选技术之一，它的标准化工作在3GPP（The 3rd Generation Partnetship Project）中完成。根据技术的进步和市场的需要，到目前为止，其标准经历了两个阶段：
　　第一阶段（R99）：R99标准在2001年3月基本冻结，其RTT（无线传输技术）的最大的特征是引入了CDMA技术。其核心网络结构主要是基于演进的GPRS网络。其无线子系统内部核心网之间的接口全部基于ATM。大部分厂家可在2002年左右开始提供设备；
　　第二阶段（R2000）:R2000标准对于RTT（无线传输）技术仅作进一步完善，明确个别细节。而在核心网部分提出了“全IP”的概念，是基于“全IP”（ALL IP）的网络。R2000全套标准进一步划分为R4和R5两个阶段。虽然R4标准的第一版在2001年3月完成，R5标准的第一版在2001年底完成，但仍有许多缺陷，有待于进一步完善。目前“全IP”的概念仍在讨论中，并且R2000仅是实现“全IP”的第一步。预计R2000的商用设备将在2004年左右推出。
